OfferUp notifications not working? Here is what to check

OfferUp can alert you when a new listing matches a saved search, but the alerts live inside the OfferUp app and arrive on OfferUp's schedule. When they go quiet, these are the things to check — and how to add a second watcher that runs on your own computer.

Check these first

  1. The search is saved with alerts on. OfferUp alerts only for saved searches that have notifications enabled; a search you ran once does not count.
  2. Your phone allows OfferUp to notify you. Check the phone's notification settings for the OfferUp app and any focus or do-not-disturb schedule.
  3. OfferUp's own notification settings include new-listing alerts. These can be switched off separately from messages and offers.
  4. Your location and radius are what you think. A saved search inherits the location it was created with; a move or a wrong ZIP silently empties it.

Why alerts still lag when everything is on

OfferUp decides when to send a saved-search alert and which listings qualify. Alerts cover OfferUp only, one search at a time, and arrive inside the OfferUp app. If you also watch Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist, that is three apps and three notification systems to keep an eye on.

A second watcher you control

No — those are OfferUp's to send. Pouncify watches OfferUp separately from your own computer and sends its own alerts to your phone, Telegram, email or Discord.
