How fast are the alerts?
Typically within minutes of a listing appearing. Pouncify paces its checks to keep your marketplace accounts safe, and you control that pace — the schedule, the gaps between checks and the daily limits — so alerts arrive as fast as the limits you set allow.
Which marketplaces does Pouncify watch?
Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp (United States) and Kijiji (Canada). Pouncify only offers the marketplaces that operate in your region, and one saved search covers all of them at once.
Do I need accounts on the marketplaces?
No. Craigslist, OfferUp and Kijiji need no account, and Facebook Marketplace works without one too — Pouncify watches its public view out of the box. Signing in to Facebook is optional and gives you more reach; you do it once inside Pouncify's browser window, and that session stays on your computer — it is never sent anywhere.
Is automated watching allowed by the marketplaces?
Most marketplaces' terms don't formally permit automated access, so Pouncify is built to behave like a careful person browsing: it reads listings only, never posts or messages anyone, runs on your own computer and IP (with your own login only if you choose to sign in), and paces itself with randomized gaps, daily budgets and active hours that you control.
The choice to use it — and any account risk — stays with you; the app's license agreement spells this out plainly.
What does the free version include?
One saved search, watched across every marketplace Pouncify supports in your region, checked as often as every few minutes inside a 15-hour daily window you choose, with alerts on all channels. No card, no account and no trial clock — install it and it starts watching.
Does Pouncify message sellers or buy things automatically?
No. Pouncify is read-only by design: it never contacts sellers, never posts, never bids. It tells you the moment something good appears — messaging the seller is your move.
Can I get alerts on my phone?
Yes. Free Pouncify apps for iPhone (App Store) and Android (Google Play) pair with the desktop app: you scan a QR code once, then get push alerts and can manage searches from anywhere. Telegram, email and Discord alerts work on any phone as well. Your computer does the watching either way, so it needs to be on.
Where is my data stored?
In a local database on your computer, under your own user profile. There is no Pouncify account and no cloud copy — we never see your searches, your saved listings or your marketplace sessions. One click in the app wipes everything.
Which computers does it run on?
Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), and macOS on Apple Silicon (M1 or later). Intel Macs aren't supported yet. Your computer needs to be on for watching to happen — Pouncify sits quietly in the tray/menu bar. The iPhone and Android apps pair with it, so you can keep an eye on things from your phone, but they pair with the computer rather than replacing it.
How is Pouncify different from cloud marketplace alert apps?
Cloud alert services run your searches on their servers, so they hold your Facebook session and a log of everything you hunt for, and many charge per watchlist. Pouncify runs on your own Windows or macOS computer: nothing about your searches leaves your machine, one saved search covers Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp and Kijiji, and the checking pace is yours to set. The trade-off is simple: your computer has to be on for the watching to happen.
Why not just use Facebook Marketplace's own saved-search notifications?
You can, and Pouncify does not replace them. In practice they are widely reported to arrive hours after a listing, or not at all, and they cover one marketplace.
