Pouncify does the watching on your computer — the phone apps are a companion, so you can check finds, pause a search and get alerts while you're out.

Installing on Windows — what it will look like

  1. Run the downloaded Pouncify Setup installer. It installs for your user only — no administrator prompt.
  2. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC" (SmartScreen), click More info → Run anyway. See the note below on why this appears.
  3. Pouncify starts in the system tray. Open it and follow the built-in setup guide: add a search, pick where alerts go, turn the schedule on.

Installing on macOS — what it will look like

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg and drag Pouncify into Applications.
  2. On first launch, if macOS says the app is from an unidentified developer: right-click the app → Open → Open (or allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway).
  3. Pouncify lives in the menu bar. The built-in setup guide takes it from there.
Why the security prompt? Windows and macOS show that warning for apps from new publishers that haven't yet shipped an OS code-signing certificate — it's about the certificate, not about what the app does. The prompt is expected for the first Pouncify builds; the install is a normal per-user install you can remove like any other app. If you'd rather wait for signed builds, that's a fair call — they're being worked on now.
Updates On Windows, Pouncify updates itself in the background. On macOS that needs a signed build, so until those ship the app tells you a new version is out and you download it yourself.

After installing

The app walks you through everything in a checklist: create your first search (one search covers every marketplace in your region), connect an alert channel (Telegram, email or Discord), review the pacing limits, and switch the schedule on. Facebook Marketplace additionally asks you to log in once inside the app's browser window — Craigslist, OfferUp and Kijiji need no login at all. Once the phone apps ship, scanning a QR code from the desktop pairs one so you can get push alerts and check in from anywhere.
